Corporate Sound & AV Engineer

Sound & AV Technician

Hello! My name is Jack and I am a Sound and AV Technician in the live corporate events space.

Conferences, awards dinners and exhibitions are my wheelhouse. I can mix bands but it's not really my main thing; I know it's weird to say this but as a sound tech I really don't enjoy mixing bands/music...

I work primarily in London but can work anywhere in the UK with enough lead time for hotels and travel as I'm not a driver. I am also very happy to work overseas.

So how can I help you on your event?

Sound Engineering

I can do sound for live events big and small; from 1000+ delegates, audio feeds going here, there and everywhere, dozens of radio mics and playback sources right down to a humble breakout room with 5 punters and the catering team!

I can help you with studio records for broadcast, studio sound for VMix streaming and live studio broadcast sound.

I've done this for end clients that include HSBC and Vodafone if I you don't mind me namedropping a couple of big guns...

The setup may be different (the lack of PA and punters is definitely different) but the fundamentals all still apply; I am pretty committed about applying them to get the best results for my clients and, by extension, their clients.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of audio brands I'm at home using for your events.

AV Technician

I would never sell myself as a "big gig" video guy. Not only would it be a lie found out pretty quick but it would also be an insult to those chaps and chappettes for whom it's a passion and career.

I am, however, at a breakout/small to mid sized gig level with video stuff; think basic switching and I'm comfortable with Barco and Analogway kit, video editing and playback, PowerPoint/Keynote (more on that below) presentation creation and editing, setting up and operating projection (Christie, Panasonic, BenQ and screens, Decimators and assorted video bodgers.

In the modern AV game of hybrid events I'm also a pretty solid Zoom keeper.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of AV/Video related brands I'm comfortable using.

VOG Services

Working the sound desk often comes with the role of doing the Voice of God (or Voice of spiritually, culturally, denominationally and gender undfined being) announcements. Most engineers and technicians and show callers hate doing it but I actually love it!

I can do your VOGs live or I can pre-record them for you with using my Shure SM7B mic (or a mic into my portable audio recorder on site) and deliver a warm, calm and authoritative voice for your event.

PowerPoint Design and Tweaking

PowerPoint (and Keynote) are the lynchpins of a corporate conference event and as such they need to look their best. Sadly a lot of presentations are lacking in that "professional" look and finish.

Sometimes its an old 4:3 presentation that's been hastily converted into 16:9 with no real care or attention for how things look; fixing it is often a simple case of aligning things correctly or distributing and spacing objects evenly on the slide that makes the difference.

I can work as a Graphics op on shows and in speaker preview, collating presentations and tweaking them before they go live and I can also build and design presentations and convert old and dated 4:3 presentations into newer, fresher 16:9 versions.

Contact Me

I'm pretty easy to reach, email/text is the best method; if I'm on a show or in rehearsal I'll always have my phone and laptop with me but might be unable to take a call.
